Each Cake Smash Photoshoot in our Asheville, NC Portrait Studio is completely custom! After booking, I will send over my Client Prep Guide to help you prepare for your session and we will schedule a Pre-Session Consultation either on the phone or in person if you'd like to visit the studio! During this pre-session planning conversation, we'll discuss your ideas for theme and your preferences regarding color pallet for your child's Cake Smash Portraits! After the consultation, I will get to work designing your child's custom Cake Smash Portrait set based on your preferences for theme and / or color pallet.

THE cake smash EXPERIENCE
I will take care of procuring everything that is needed for the photoshoot including special backdrops, props, balloon garlands, cake stands, smash cake and even wardrobe, if you don't have something specific in mind for the shoot! All you have to do is show up on the day of your portrait session ready to make that little one laugh! Each Cake Smash Session begins with Milestone Portraits of your child, then we'll move into parent portraits with your child if you would like . After the portraits are finished, we shoot the Cake Smash Photos followed by a splash bath photos of your baby, if you would like!

- Your Photographer's time, talent and expertise to shoot (1-2hrs), edit (3-4hrs) and deliver an online proof gallery as well as time for final edits, design, ordering and delivery of your professional print products (2hrs).
At Asheville Portrait Company, we value family & try really hard to prioritize having a Healthy Work / Life Balance. We believe that it directly affects our attitude, energy, creativity and ultimately our success.
As such, we can only accept 5 Babies for Cake Smash Portrait Sessions each month. We encourage you to book you session as far in advance as possible to ensure date / time availability for your little one!

Can we get a few Family / Sibling Photos?
You’ll want to dress in colors that are in line with the theme for the session! You'll want to dress in a way that feels authentic. You’ll want to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident — like the very best version of you! I am happy to help you to put together your wardrobe for the session OR you can borrow something from my client closet at the studio if you'd like!

We'll chat about theme / color pallet during your pre-session phone consultation!
I provide everything that's needed for the session including backdrops, balloon garland, set design props etc.
If you have items at home that would be cute for the theme, you can certainly bring those!
Otherwise, just baby's wardrobe OR you can borrow something from the client closet!

What do we need to bring?
Due to high demand and limited availability, Creative Fees are non-refundable for any reason.
In the event of illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will simply re-schedule for the very next available date / time that works for both of us!
If possible, we will shoot before or after any inclement weather.

"We brought our son Ronin to Brittany for first birthday photos. Even though our sweet little boy was upset almost the whole time, Brittany made the process as calm as possible and was able to capture some sweet moments. We will definitely bring him back in the future!"
