Our families are spread out around the country and coming together doesn't happen often. Life is incredibly busy between providing for our families and the chaos of raising children, Having gorgeous professional portraits to preserve these precious moments in time, doesn't just happen. It takes an awareness that life is incredibly short, kids grow up, elders pass on and memories fade and creating these kinds of heirlooms for our families means valuing remarkable professional photography and prioritizing it.

Each Family Portrait Session begins with our Client Prep Guide which will answer almost any question you could possibly have regarding what to expect and how to prepare or your Family Photos in Asheville! From Location Options, coordinating wardrobe for your family, timing, logistics, managing little people and pets, its all there! After booking, I will add your family to my shoot calendar for your preferred portrait session date and send over the client prep guide for your review! There's a link at the end of the guide to schedule a pre-session phone consultation with me, so that we can get acquainted ahead of your session and I can answer any remaining questions you may have!

As such, we can only accept 10 families for Family Portrait Sessions each month.
We encourage you to book you session as far in advance as possible to ensure availability for your family!

How far in advance should we book our session?
We can shoot in and around Asheville proper, along the Blue Ridge Parkway, at Biltmore Estate, Max Patch, the NC Arboretum, UNCA Botanical Gardens, Warren Wilson College, at one of our iconic Waterfalls, at a Mountain Lake, in one our Creeks or Rivers!
The possibilities are limitless!
During your pre-session phone consultation, I will talk with you about the types of locations that interest you & help you to select a photo location that will be perfect for your family!

Where & When do we shoot?
The softest, most flattering light of the day happens 90 minutes after sunrise or 90 minutes before sunset. With that being said, we can shoot at any time of day, as long as you understand that the sunlight (looks) different at 1pm than it does at 6pm. If you want to shoot an outdoor or adventure session in the middle of the day, we’ll just need to get a little creative with locations, vantage point and posing!

What time of day do we shoot?
I am frequently asked to photograph Extended Families vacationing in Asheville! I am happy to travel to your vacation rental or I can show you some of the most beautiful vistas that WNC has to offer! There is an additional $25 per person creative fee assessed for groups larger than six
(a standard family size).

You’ll want to dress in a way that feels authentic. You’ll want to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident — like the very best version of you! During your pre-session phone consultation, we'll discuss wardrobe. I am happy to help you to put together your wardrobe for the session OR you can always borrow something from my client closet at the studio if you'd like!

Can we bring the dog?
Due to high demand and limited availability, Creative Fees are non-refundable for any reason.
In the event of illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will simply re-schedule for the very next available date / time that works for both of us!
If possible, we will shoot before or after any inclement weather.

Brittany did a fantastic job on the photos of my very large family (21)! We had gathered from across the country for a family reunion in the Asheville area and I depended on her expertise to suggest a spot with autumn color. The session at Biltmore went smoothly and she made sure we got the most out of our time with her. She is organized and knows what works! Brittany. You rock!

Brittany was a dream to work with! She was very responsive and easy to communicate with. I had a vision for what I wanted in my maternity photos and she executed perfectly. What an amazing experience! Having fun and large family group photography might not sound like they would go together, but our extended family of 18 had a great time in our photo shoot with Brittany.
