Each Cake Smash Photoshoot in our Asheville, NC Portrait Studio is completely custom! After booking, I will send over my Client Prep Guide which will help you to prepare for your session. There's a link at the end of the guide to schedule a Pre-Session Consultation with me to discuss plans for the session. During this pre-session planning conversation, we'll discuss your ideas for theme and/or your preferences regarding color pallet for your child's Milestone and Cake Smash Portraits! After the consultation, I get to work designing your child's custom Milestone and Cake Smash Photo set!

THE cake smash EXPERIENCE
I will take care of procuring everything that is needed for your baby's photoshoot including special backdrops, props, balloon garlands, cake stands, smash cake and even wardrobe, if you don't have something specific in mind for the shoot! All you have to do is show up on the day of the portrait session ready to make that little one laugh! Each Cake Smash Session begins with Milestone Portraits of your child alone, then we move into parent portraits with your child if you would like! After portraits are finished, we'll shoot the Cake Smash Photos followed by a splash bath for baby, if you would like!

- Your Photographer's time, talent and expertise to prepare your baby's set (1-2hrs), shoot (1-2hrs), edit (3-4hrs) and deliver an online proof gallery as well as time for final edits, design, ordering and delivery of your professional print products (2hrs).
At Asheville Portrait Company, we value family & try really hard to prioritize having a Healthy Work / Life Balance. We believe that it directly affects our attitude, energy, creativity and ultimately our success.
As such, we can only accept 5 Babies for Cake Smash Portrait Sessions each month. We encourage you to book you session as far in advance as possible to ensure date / time availability for your little one!

Cake Smash Photoshoots take place in our Asheville, NC Baby Photography Studio.
Cake Smash Sessions last approximately one hour and are photographed between
9am - 1pm.

Can we get a few Family / Sibling Photos?
You’ll want to dress in colors that are in line with the theme for the session! You'll want to dress in a way that feels authentic. You’ll want to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident — like the very best version of you! I am happy to help you to put together your wardrobe for the session OR you can borrow something from my client closet at the studio if you'd like!

We'll chat about theme / color pallet during your pre-session phone consultation!
I provide everything that's needed for the session including backdrops, balloon garland, set design props etc.
If you have items at home that would be cute for the theme, you can certainly bring those!
Otherwise, just baby's wardrobe OR you can borrow something from the client closet!

What do we need to bring?
Due to high demand and limited availability, Creative Fees are non-refundable for any reason.
In the event of illness, inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, we will simply re-schedule for the very next available date / time that works for both of us!
If possible, we will shoot before or after any inclement weather.
