As a follow up to my previous post about the best Lactation Consultants in Asheville , I wanted to share helpful resources for Breastfeeding Support in Asheville and a few other helpful resources for the new, breastfeeding mama who may be looking for survival tips or solidarity in those early days of breastfeeding your new baby!

Secondly, one thing that I absolutely loved and found to be so incredibly supportive and helpful during those early days was community mommy / baby groups! Sadly, my favorite one (ran by my doula) no longer exists but I also visited Homegrown Babies’ weekly mommy / baby group and found the camaraderie & solidarity among the new mom’s in these groups to be the tits! (pun definitely intended!) This, in my humble opinion is tremendous for Breastfeeding Support in Asheville!
And last but certainly not leaste, I found a great deal of encouragement and Breastfeeding Support in Asheville from La Letche League of Asheville! During those early days of breastfeeding my baby, La Leche League of Asheville/Buncombe offered in person support groups for new moms and their infant’s and toddlers! At the time, we met one day per week at One Love Chiropractic on Merrimon Ave. I am not certain if that’s still where they meet but you can definitely contact Valerie (828)279-4556 for more current information! La Leche League is a non-profit group whose purpose is to give information and encouragement, mainly through one-to-one help to all who want to breastfeed/chestfeed or provide pumped milk for their babies.
